Jesus Was An Entrepreneur in the Healing Business

Jesus was in the healing business and regularly healed people in the marketplaces. Mark 6:56 is just one example. Here is a short excerpt from my article:

Do you believe God’s healing power is omnipresent? Do you believe people can be healed anywhere, including the workplace? Do you think someone could receive a miracle on your job? Do you believe God could use you to do that?

In the Old Testament, God dwelt in buildings, and visited people periodically. However, in the New Testament – which we are still living in now – God chooses to dwell in His people, and is ever-present. 2 Corinthians 6:16-17 tells us, “… for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

So as a living, breathing, moving Temple of the Holy Spirit, Almighty God is with you, even on your job or in your business. He delights in being close to you and wants to be involved in all aspects and details of your life. And since He is at work in you, He also wants to go to work with you! He sees the needs of the people you work with and wants to work through you to help them get a real breakthrough. Christ in you is the hope of glory!

3 Ways Entrepreneurship Education Can Elevate Economically-Challenged Communities

I have believed for a long time that entrepreneurship education could be used as a strategic empowerment tool to lift up those in poverty-stricken communities. I’m very excited to see social entrepreneurship strategies being used all over the world to elevate people and communities out of their financial and social distress. Unfortunately, I don’t often see the same entrepreneurial energy and intentionality utilized here in the United States to help those who are challenged will lack of access to resources and tools that can help create new avenues of economic opportunity.

Entrepreneurship education is just as valid a poverty-smashing solution in urban communities in the U.S. as they are in slums in India or villages in Africa. Even more, when entrepreneurship education is paired with Biblical principles, you have the makings of people who are not just skilled as businesspeople, they also develop the morals and character to operate a business that’s profitable and positively impacts others.

Here are three practical ways entrepreneurship education can elevate economically-challenged communities:

1. Sense of Ownership: Embedded within an entrepreneurial mindset is a sense of ownership. Entrepreneurs who operate businesses within a community usually have a heightened desire to take accountability for what happens in that community, because they know they need that community to succeed if their business is going to be sustainable.
2. Sense of Purpose: Without a revelation of their purpose and significance, people cast off restraint and run wild (Proverbs 29:18 NIV). When people have no sense of purpose, they lose hope and stop caring about themselves and the people around them. Entrepreneurship education helps ignite the purpose in people to pursue something greater than what they may see around them everyday. Entrepreneurship education is an incredible platform to transport people from where they are to their God-ordained destiny.
3. Creative Energy: People in poverty-stricken areas don’t lack creativity, they are just using their creative abilities far below the purpose for which God created them. Entrepreneurship empowerment can help people use their ingenuity beyond just basic survival or even criminal pursuits. Creative energy that wasn’t being used previously or being used for the wrong things are now channeled in a positive, beneficial direction for themselves and others.

What is The (Un)Employment Alternative?

This is Kingdom Business University’s (KBU) ambitious plan to stimulate the creation of 1 million jobs through faith-based, purpose-centered entrepreneurship education. We are starting in Cedartown, GA. Help us today at www.theunemploymentalternative.com.

The Impact
The vision of the Coalition of Concerned Citizens of Cedartown, GA – a diverse group including pastors, entrepreneurs, social workers, and city officials – is to use entrepreneurship education as a catalyst to bring social and economic empowerment back to a region that is challenged with crime, unemployment, poverty, and lack of opportunities. They have partnered with Kingdom Business University to provide entrepreneurship classes that will restore hope, launch new businesses, create jobs, and catalyze new opportunities for the unemployed, ex-offenders, and youth who have been unable to find viable work and sustainable income sources.

What We Need & What You Get
Our goal is to raise $2500 on IndieGogo, which will pay for the first 30 participants. The more we raise the more people and can teach. Our desire is to offer this program at a minimal financial cost to the participants, although they will be asked to invest in this opportunity in other ways, such as community service. The amount will go towards:curriculum, facilities, supplies, and other related expenses. Additional funds will also be applied toward establishing a business incubator that will provide on-going support to graduates.

Developing the Entrepreneurial Mind of Christ

It’s that time again! The new February/March issue of Brotha Online Magazine is ready and available for your exploration. Albert Einstein was an intellectual phenomenon. Steve Jobs was a creative mastermind. Thomas Edison was a genius as bright as they come (pun intended). However none of these entrepreneurial inventors measures up to the brilliance, inventiveness, resourcefulness, prowess, and many other words I could use to describe our indescribable God.

God is the original and ultimate entrepreneur. In the beginning of Genesis 1, through Jesus (Hebrews 1:2), He created something incredible out of chaos. At the end of Genesis 1, they created man and woman in their divine image and told them to take dominion over the earth, be fruitful, and multiply. In order for us to accomplish these three mandates we have to use divine characteristics of entrepreneurship, including but not limited to faith, intelligence, creative ability, and resourcefulness, all of which God displayed as He manifested the universe.

When most people hear the word entrepreneur they automatically think about business and selling stuff. However, you don’t have to be in business to be entrepreneurial. My simple definition for entrepreneurial is the ability to create value for people using attributes given to us by God. So using this definition, everyone should be entrepreneurial, which also describes how we should be operating in the world with the mind of Christ.

Back to the Future

I am so excited to launch my new web site and blog at PaulWilsonJr.com. I am taking my business and my brand back to where I started a few years ago after I wrote my book Dream B.I.G. in 3D. Just like Michael J. Fox in the 80s classic movie Back to the Future, I am sort of going backwards to move forward. At that time I was really focusing on helping people discover their purpose through the dream God placed in their heart. Since then I had broadened my message and services to include some other things, but I realize that I need to go back to what I know God originally gave me to do. And that is as I am helping people discover their purpose, I am supposed to also help them develop an entrepreneurial mindset for Christ. I talk about this more in-depth in this video. As such, you will begin to see more of my multi-media offerings, products, and services geared toward these two areas.

Temp Employment Will Push More Into Entrepreneurship

In the future entrepreneurship will be “disguised” as temp work…

Whether by choice or by circumstance more and more workers are being pushed to the brink of entrepreneurship, but they don’t realize it. A report from The McKinsey Global Institute finds that in the next five years, more than half of employers expect to rely more on temporary, part-time and contract workers for a variety of duties.

For those who see this as a half-empty glass are frightful of this growing scaled-down, flexible workforce. But for those who see this as a half-full glass, this is an opportunity to launch a entrepreneurial venture. Corporations still need the work to get done, which creates ripe circumstances for enterprising individuals to create enterprises that can do the work at potentially a lower cost than a full-time employee.
