Pioneer Your Own Path!

Atlanta got hit with some snow last night and this morning. Since we typically only get snow about once per year, it’s cool (no pun intended) except for the icy road conditions that cause lots of accidents. And of course lots of people send in their snow pictures and videos to the local news channels. A few that have captured my attention are the ones of lonely sets of footprints where someone has just forged a new path in the snow.

Seeing these pictures reminds me of pioneers who blaze new paths versus those who just follow what others have already done. Pioneers lead when there is no obvious path to follow. Unfortunately most people wait for others to do the hard work and then complain when it doesn’t happen in their timing or according to their preferences.

Pioneers may not reap immediate rewards, but they do get the satisfaction of knowing they at least tried something no one has done before. If you never risk anything you never know what you are ultimately capable of accomplishing. It’s better to risk and fail than to never risk at all!

You have the talents, abilities, knowledge, and skills to do something spectacular. Are you just sitting around waiting to follow someone else’s path or are you blazing a path where none exists? Good things come to those who wait. Great things come to those who pioneer paths least traveled!
