Boldly Go Where None Has Gone Before!

This week we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the successful landing of the first man on the moon from the Apollo 11 space mission. That incredible event would not have happened without the vision and leadership of people who believed they could accomplish something that had never been done before. One of those people was President John F. Kennedy, who gave a courageous speech 7 years before this amazing feat would be achieved, boldly declaring the U.S. would put a man on the moon before the end of that decade.
Don’t be afraid to dream of things that have never been attempted. Don’t be intimidated by things that have never been accomplished. Just because it hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean you can’t be the first to do it!
JFK was definitely a big dreamer and his dream came true! Check out this excerpt from his 1962 “going to the moon” speech:
“We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.”
