The God Factor by Patrice Tsague

“So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.” ~ Joshua 6:20

Have you ever faced an impossible task just to discover a solution in an unexpected manner? Have things happened in your business or life that are difficult to explain? If you are operating a kingdom business, you most likely have faced unexplainable circumstances in your favor. If you tried to explain that favor, those who have never experienced it, or those who do not have a personal commitment to the ways of the kingdom, will find it difficult to believe you. A client paying his bill unexpectedly when you need the money, a vendor forgiving a debt or reducing a bill to the exact amount you are able to pay, the bank extending a credit line unexpectedly, a new contract just when you need it; I call these things the God factor. Nonbelievers call it luck or chance. There is no such thing as luck or chance. Everything that happens is based on the orchestration of God’s ultimate will.
The God factor is the intervention of the Divine into the visible world in favor of His ultimate will. It is God getting involved in human affairs to ensure that His ultimate will is advanced. It is something that cannot be logically explained due to its illogical nature. It is God himself getting involved in the affairs of His chosen. Any plan that does not factor in God and His ultimate will is doomed to fail. Any plan that factors in God and His ultimate will is bound to succeed, no matter how impossible the task. For “Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible‘” (Matthew 19:26).
After the death of Moses, Joshua has the impossible task of leading the Israelites into their final military victory – to posses the Promised Land. First they must be circumcised and then fight the battle against Jericho. Jericho is protected by a massive wall that makes it impossible for any attacker to defeat it, but God gives Joshua a strategy. Joshua must have his army march around the wall six days, once a day, and then on the seventh day march seven times, have the priests blow their trumpets, and then shout at once and the wall would come down. I am sure this did not make sense to Joshua but he obeys God and has the people march around the wall seven times and shout after the trumpet sounds. Upon the seventh time and the shout, the walls of Jericho tumble down and they take possession of the city.
What makes it possible for the Israelites to possess that territory; is it their strength, their superior intelligence or their military might? None of the above, although they are armed, well trained and use military intelligence. The key to their victory is the God factor; they factored God into their strategy.
There are so many other biblical stories of God intervening in the affairs of His chosen as they operate according to His will; there is Abraham and Sarah who conceive a child in their old age, Moses who defeats Pharaoh and singlehandedly frees the Hebrews from the most powerful military force of his day, the widow with the jar of oil who goes from bankruptcy to starting an oil manufacturing business and becomes debt free, and of course there is Jesus Christ who is born of a virgin, dies a horrific death, and rises on the third day. None of these things can be explained without factoring in God.
As you consider your plans for the New Year, have you factored God in those plans? Have you considered the things that God wants you to do or are you limiting your plans to only what you can do? Whether you plan to expand your business, become debt free, start a new business or incorporate intentional kingdom strategies in your business, do not go into the New Year depending only on yourself; remember your Creator, His will, and His ability. Remember the God factor; no matter how impossible the task, with Him all things are possible.
